Chantal FrindallRegistered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) Bexhill-on-sea United Kingdom
![]()
I initially trained in the performing arts in ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern and drama. When I was accepted into University I was looking to find a form of exercise which would maintain my flexibility and strength. This led me to yoga, this was the best decision I could have made. Yoga has not only maintained and improved my flexibility and strength, but has also provided me with peace and tranquility of mind.
I have been practising yoga for approx 9 years. I began my practice in 2004, I was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga whilst at University of Sussex studying for my law degree. I immediately became hooked and noticed a fundamental difference in my concentration levels. This had a direct impact on my studies. I found studying much easier and excelled throughout my examinations. I continued with Ashtanga and started Hatha Yoga in 2008. I continued with both types of practice solely until 2010. In 2010 I moved to London and also started Bikram Yoga. Experimenting with numerous types of yoga as both enhanced my practice and flexibility. Once I had finished my legal academic training in London I worked for a Law firm in central London. I started increasing my yoga practice, which led me to reassess my work life balance and consider taking the plunge with a yoga teacher training qualification. I commenced my teacher training RYT 200 with Yoga Vidya in India. I chose to train in India as I was looking for a place where both my yoga could blossom and I could learn under the guidance of renowned teachers. It was important to me to train in the birthplace of yoga, I chose Yoga Vidya and commenced my training in the Himalayas. I trained with Swami Bhooma Chaitanya whom entered into the monastic life of renunciation & spirituality at the age of 18. He moved onto Sivananda Ashram in Kerala – for the intense practice of yoga sadhana. From Sivananda Tradition, he completed the Yoga Teachers Training Course and Advanced Teachers Training Course in 1996 and also completed three Sadhana Intensive courses since then. He is registered with Yoga Alliance as an Expert Yoga Teacher. During my teacher training course I was given an insight into the life of an Ashram; I practiced yoga for 4.5 hours per day alongside, gaining teaching experience, learning yoga anatomy and corrections, meditation, chanting, Ayurveda and teachings on Indian philosophy and spirituality. This experience not only developed my practice but made a profound impact on a personal level. I am now excited to pass this inspirational knowledge onto future students, with the hope to make an impact on their daily life and love for yoga. I have been teaching privately since I returned from India. I have opened a health food shop and my new yoga studio 'Pathway Yogi' in Eastbourne, East Sussex will open in the next few months. I am looking to build a great repertoire of teachers of all different styles. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
