I first found an interest in yoga when I was 18 and have practiced on and off ever since, however, in the last year my love for yoga has grown and it has now become an integral part of my life, not only the physical but all aspects of the yogic lifestyle.
It is the asana practice that first led me to Yoga and now on to other aspects of the practice, such as the Yamas (ethical and moral observations), Pranayama (breath regulation) and Dhyana (meditation). I practice various styles including Ashtanga, Hatha, Kundalini and yoga dance. I regularly attend other yoga classes and love to learn from fellow yogis and develop my practice. One of the aspects of yoga I love is that you are continuously learning and growing in your practice. Yoga is a way of life and for me it is about finding balance and peace by connecting to myself in mind, body and spirit. I also believe that the yogic lifestyle promotes kindness, love and respect for life and all that is part of it. Additionally, I have always had a connection with the natural world and I have found that yoga has heightened this and allowed me to find like-minded people.
