With Specialised workshops and seminars in health and yoga therapy, this meets the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of the individual.
Debbie began her yoga practice nearly 20 years ago with Hatha Yoga, meditation and eastern philosophy study in India as well as UK, then used her practice as a means of dealing with injuries and enhancing performance during other physical activities. What began as a physical practice for strength and flexibility quickly became a lifestyle. Debbie teaches her students to take yoga off the mat and apply the principles, learned in class, to their lives outside. She not only teaches this philosophy, she lives it, enjoying Martial Arts training in weapons as well as internal energy work in Qi Gong, Debbie embraces this continual learning curve of strength and healthy living. Debbie's primarily training came from The Yoga for Health Foundation, where she qualified as a Yoga Teacher in 2008. In addition to teacher trainings in the Vinyasa and Kelvala Yoga School training and the more dynamic form of Kerela Yoga in India Debbie continues her professional development with Professor Dhilip Kumar and other leading teachers of Yoga. Debbie and Professor Dhilip Kumar are in partnership and have recently registered their new Yoga teacher training company, called Kevala Acadamy of Yoga fully affiliated in May 2011. Website is being designed at the moment and will be posted once completed with full details of teacher training and yoga therapy training in UK and the Far East. When asked what yoga means to her, Debbie says: “Through yoga, the impossible becomes possible. We spend so much time separating ourselves form one another. As we ascend the spine and descend the brain we become whole, or One. experiencing Oneness (yoga) is possible for all people regardless of their age, gender, skin colour and even their health. Steady practice is the key to success in yoga and health.” Quoting, according to Sri BKS Iyengar’s words: “The body is the temple, the postures are the prayers.”
