Elissa completed a Sport Science and Physical Education degree at The University of Athens, Greece, specialising in Apparatus Gymnastic (Artistic Gymnastics). Elissa started out at an early age as a competitive gymnast, before moving to work as a circus art performer and movement director in theatre and performing arts. She has a strong interest in physical movement and the various forms it can be used within hence striving to work as a movement instructor in many different environments.
Her work as a High Performer Gymnastics Coach includes coaching children and young adults (ages 2-18) with techniques that are needed for gymnasts to perform to a high competitive level and also she is working as a yoga teacher providing a new style of yoga based on a mixed of Vinyasa Flow and Greek ancient acrobatics.
Elissa’s interest in storytelling and the extensive world of theatre lead her to work with gymnastics in the theatrical environment. This has allowed her the opportunity to work experimentally with professional performers as well as students, dancers and actors who are looking to develop their skills and interests further for contemporary theatre and performing arts. Alongside this, Elissa works with many adults with no specific physical background to motivate them to change their life style, encouraging them to challenge themselves and take risks with how they believe they move their bodies in space in order to make them physically stronger.
She believes that it is never too late to start doing things for your self and to make your dreams come true even if that dream was just to do a handstand. Anyone can be a champion as long as they know that the path they follow will not always be the same. As long that principal is remembered then anyone can be a success.
