Teacher Details

Eliza was born in Amsterdam, Holland. Eliza has been working with the body in movement since she was a teenager and started her training at the Academy of Art in Amsterdam (1993), where she studied to become a teacher of Classical Ballet and Modern Dance. Eliza then studied Dance Movement Therapy (BA) and it was during this time she became involved with the practice of Yoga (mainly Asthanga Yoga) (1997-200).

During her studies she worked with children with physical and learning difficulties, autism and visual impairment. After her studies Eliza focused on the practice of Yoga while she was teaching dance and aerobics classes to adults and children in several health clubs in Amsterdam.

To further her Yoga studies Eliza travelled to India for a few months, where she did various courses and classes of Yoga and meditation. Eliza continued her travels around the world (2003) for one year and took Yoga classes wherever they were available, because she believes the way people teach Yoga reflects part of their culture.

Eliza studied Thai Yoga Massage in Thailand and finally settled down in London, where she worked in various health clubs and hospitals, teaching fitness, aerobics and Yoga.

Eliza completed her Yoga Teacher Training Course in 2006 in London and is also Yoga for pregnancy certified with the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY). Eliza has been teaching in her own home studio since then, as well as giving private classes in people’s homes.



Eliza has a very profound knowledge and experience of the body and how it works in movement. Eliza believes that the practice of Yoga should be a safe, rebalancing and revitalizing experience without any stress or strain on the body or mind!
