Teacher Details

My first taste of yoga was at Art College in Dublin when I was feeling the pressures of completing my degree in Glass Design, I found the relaxation took me to a whole new realm. The pranayama was great for expanding my lung capacity for blowing hot glass, but eventually my love of yoga surpassed my love of making art and my yogic journey began.

In 2003 I completed training with YTTC in Belfast, but felt that I'd only just scratched the surface of self exploration, a trip to India was needed to see where it all began. I spent 4 months traveling India, spending a month's intensive in Sivananda, Kerala. The Indian way is so REAL life that you cannot leave without it touching your soul. After this I indulged in healing and meditation groups including Barbara Brennan and Vipassana which helped me get a deeper understanding subtle energies and intuition. I have attended many workshops and yoga holidays with numerous teachers such as Shiva Rea, Kaustib Desikachar and David Sye. Just like a bee makes better honey from a variety of pollen, my style of teaching is a hybrid of gems from my many gurus.

A whole new part of my yogic journey began in 2006 when I was asked to teach children at a school I already taught adults at. It was something I had always dreamed of, but knew it would be a challenge. With the beautiful teachings and support of Jane-Louise Kelly of Yogabuddies I started teaching children. Through word of mouth more schools got involved and I now am teaching programs in schools sponsored by Barnardo's which is mostly taught to me by my little yogis! Having taught both adults and children separately for years I decided to bring them together for Family classes, I was greatly inspired by Uma Dinsmore Tuli's teachings for Pregnancy and Mother and Baby Yoga, another mother earth figure, who taught me that not all the best children's yoga teachers are mothers themselves!

After so many years of teaching and studying I have realised that this journey is into infinity and I hope it never ends...
