Jess has been practicing Yoga for 6 years alongside teaching in secondary schools in the North East. After having the opportunity to train to become a yoga teacher she felt that all was falling into place and has spent that last year immersing herself in all things yoga. Jess has a wealth of teaching experience behind her as well as a strong personal yoga practice which gives her an insight into teaching styles and methods alongside excellent knowledge of yoga.
Jess has followed both Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Krama Yoga styles and has found that they complement each other in her practice. She employs a blend of these in her teaching. She has completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Brian Cooper at Union Yoga and both teaches her own classes and assists others. She is a member of Yoga Alliance. She has trained with Jambo in Newcastle, developing teaching and adjustment skills. She has studied arm balancing and backbends with Brian Cooper, and has studied with Anthony ‘Prem’ Carlisi. Jess believes that the secret to a heathy mind is having a healthy body and is passionate about fitness. She believes that yoga can help people from a range of backgrounds and aims to develop each individual at their own pace. The yoga that she teaches is powerful but if done mindfully and with breath also creates a calm mind and a sense of perspective. She believes that through working with the body we can develop strength on a physical, mental and emotional level.
