Laura Denham-JonesRegistered Yoga Teacher (RYT500) London England
![]()
I began practicing yoga in 1985 while studying for a degree in Performance Arts. Later I developed an Iyengar-based practice with Judith Hirt in San Francisco. I then branched out into Astanga Vinyasa yoga, completing my first teacher training at It's Yoga in San Francisco in 2001, followed by Shiva Rea's Vinyasa Flow teaching intensive in London in 2004. I later began studying Pilates with Amit Younger of Pilates Performance at the Royal Academy of Dance, where I went on to complete my Body Arts and Science Pilates Mat Work teaching certification. I also have a certificate in Sport Yoga from the National Exercise and Sport Trainers Association (USA).
Over the years I have had the privilege of developing my practice in workshops with some of the world's best known contemporary teachers, including Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, John Scott, David Swenson, Edward Clark, Kausthaub Desikachar, Tias Little, Pattabhi Jois, Baron Baptiste, Jonathan Monks, Beryl Bender Birch, Ana Forrest, Max Strom, Judith Lasater (Restorative Yoga Teacher Training) and Pilates master Rael Isacowitz. Initially trained to teach traditional Ashtanga, my practice and teaching continues to evolve and change. I now practice and teach mostly alignment-based Hatha flow (a.k.a. vinyasa/power yoga) at various levels, specialized Yoga for Runners and Pilates mat work. I've also contributed to and been featured in many publications including Yoga Magazine, Runner's World, Health and Fitness, Zest, The Evening Standard and The Financial Times.
