Born in Spain where she grew up and graduated in Marketing Publishing and PR, she moved to London for the first time in 1998 where she completed a BA in New Media Journalism. It was then when she started pushing her body to the maximum since she had to combine her part time jobs with her studies. Her hunger for learning and experiencing led her to face a really bad form of stress that almost killed her.
At one point she could barely walk or talk. Her muscles were being paralysed and she had to be off sick for over a month and on tranquilisers for over a year. Most breakdowns are a life changing experience and Rachel was determined to make the most of it despite the difficulties. Her positive and smiling attitude towards life, her practical mind and analysing ability helped her to point out her mistakes and learn from them. But her body had decided to make it hard for her. She developed all sort of allergies and food intolerances and life was becoming a burden. She always had an interest in Yoga and spirituality although her TV Production job and social life kept her quite down to earth. She started getting more and more interested in Yoga and realised how much could help her personally. It was a long process not only physically but also mentally. After 11 years of intense work she finally decided that it was time for a well deserved break and left everything behind to go to India. Hopefully that would help her to finally relax and also to work towards a career change that would allow her to live accordingly with her principles and values. She lived in Mumbai for over a year and completed a Yoga Teacher Training in The Yoga Institute of Santa Cruz, the oldest organised yoga centre in the world. Needless to say that not only she succeeded but she became inspired enough to share her experiences and founded Exience Yoga, a project that intends to serve as a guidance to others who suffer from stress or any other illness or simply want to make a change in their lives. Anyone who wants to feel happy, strong, confident, fearless...In one word: Balanced! Her Approach: Her professional background in Events and TV Production made her learn how to remain calm under pressure regardless the situation. Working closely with celebrities and high profile clients gave her a good understanding of their needs and behavioral patterns. Excellent manners, attention to detail and a smiling attitude are a must in any industry but even more when it comes to Yoga. Most people think that Yoga is about becoming flexible physically, almost like an acrobat, but the reality is that the big challenge is to make your MIND flexible and then your body will automatically balance at the same level. Acceptance, respect, tolerance, understanding…In four words: FLEXIBLE IN MANY WAYS!
