Shanti yoga School has been established in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire since 2003 as a Hatha Yoga Teacher Training School offering courses in basic teacher training, advanced yoga courses and CPD for Yoga Teachers. We will launch our new 200 hour teacher training programme in January 2012.We are also proud to announce that Shanti has a new home. The Ecocentre on Shakerdale Farm Car Colston near Bingham is the first yoga centre of its kind. Built of straw bales and cedar clad it represents the simplicity and sustainability that yoga aspires to.

As yoga teacher trainers we know the journey of life is hard but we all have personal experience of transformation through yoga. We don’t have a vision of ourselves as perfect: we just work on our own life journey using the wonderful tools of yoga and hope to pass on, through example and teacher training all that we know just now.We honour our spirit, rejoice in our good fortune and guide those entering yoga as best we are able without forcing. We avoid PUSHING –but do a little bit of pulling now and then!!. We encourage and sometimes strongly persuade you to have a go when you say you can’t—the joy of seeing someone do something that they declared impossible is profound: because we’ve all used yoga to transform ourselves we know from within what that’s like.We move towards a flexibility that we refer to as the "child-like state":we encourage perseverance, fortitude and adventurousness.
